NAMI (which stands for: National Alliance on Mental Illness) is a national organization that focuses on educating and advocating for mental health.
NAMI on Campus Wittenberg is a student-led campus organization that aims to help address the mental health needs of students and raise mental health awareness within our campus community by providing peer-support, education, and advocacy. Spring of 2015 marks the initial semester of NAMI being on Wittenberg's campus; the organization plans on offering many student run activities on campus to promote awareness, such as monthly meetings and movie nights. We are greatly looking forward to the fall semester since our peer space should be up and running by then. The peer space will be an excellent place for students to speak up about their own mental health in a welcoming and supportive environment. We are excited to be on campus and cannot wait for the fall semester!
