Taking the next step in your teaching career is like starting an exciting adventure! Start your adventure at Wittenberg University!

For decades, Wittenberg-prepared teachers have set the standard for leading in classrooms across the country and around the world.

Our dynamic curriculum addresses current practices and compares those to national and international best practices. You will work with local teachers and school administrators who understand our region and can help you make strides in your professional practice and an impact on our local schools.

Wittenberg University’s MA in Education Program allows you to earn your Master’s degree, plus add your Principal Licensure if you choose to. At Wittenberg, it’s all about options.

Master of Arts in Education

The 36 credit program is delivered in a cohort delivery format. This means you will join a group of colleagues who will progress through the program together, forming a supportive educational community. Cohorts begin each fall. Completion of the MA degree can be expected in six semesters (two years attending year-round). Students take two courses in each semester – fall, spring and summer.  We offer options in the delivery of our classes. Some classes are 100% online. Others are hybrid, where less than 50% is online. All of our classes offer the opportunity to participate via web conference and are recorded for later review as needed. Wittenberg students can make personal connections in the classroom and benefit from the flexibility of our online options. Ohio Reading Endorsement

This program is designed for licensed teachers who wish to add the Ohio Reading Endorsement to their current teaching license. The Reading Endorsement helps teachers prepare students for state reading tests, making them more successful readers in accordance with the Ohio Department of Education’s 3rd Grade Reading Guarantee. This guarantee ensures that all students receive the support they need to read by 3rd grade. The coursework will enhance knowledge and instructional skill in reading and writing beyond the foundation required of beginning teachers.

Wittenberg’s program is designed so students can complete the coursework online in one summer. All courses are offered at the graduate level.

Completing this endorsement will prepare you to serve as a teacher leader both formally and informally in your school and district. It will allow you to support the development of new teachers, lead school improvement initiatives, assist school administrators with professional development activities and attend to other leadership needs within the school. The Teacher Leader Endorsement also will help you qualify for the Lead Professional Educators License, the highest qualification on Ohio's highest four-tiered licensure structure.
