Luke McSurley, class of 2014 from Wilmington, Ohio, has always felt called to follow after his grandfather, a pastor. Today, the campus ministries leader is using his passion for faith and people to get students talking about their beliefs.
Born with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disorder that shortens life expectancy, McSurley credits his ambition for serving others to his own sense of urgency about life.
Welcome to the Web page for Advent and Lenten Devotions! Each year, Weaver Chapel Association, a student chapel ministry, organizes daily devotions for the seasons of Advent (leading up to Christmas) and Lent (leading from Ash Wednesday through to Good Friday).
They are written by members of the Wittenberg community, far and wide: students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and members of the Board of Directors.
We invite you to explore spiritual opportunities on campus, whether through a student organization, a worship opportunity, an independent bible study, or other activities, listed below. If you'd like more information, please contact Pastor Rachel Tune, firstname.lastname@example.org.
In weekly worship, we gather as a community of Christ. We seek to praise God, to hear God's word of grace in Jesus Christ, to share in the Lord's Supper, to pray for the concerns of our community and the world, and to be strengthened in faith as we are sent out into the world to serve in Christ's name.
