Greetings from the Student Health and Counseling Center

Parents,

I want to introduce you to our Student Health Center and encourage you to encourage your son or daughter to come find out where we are.

We are located “off the beaten path” in the lower level of the Shouvlin Building right next door to where your student eats meals in the student center.

Health Fees For Students

The following fees will be assessed to the student account for services rendered:

Immunizations, Medications & Supplies

  • $30-Allergy-Single Injection
  • $40-Allergy-Multiple Injection

Office Procedures

  • $50-Ear Lavage
  • $25-Strep Antigen
  • $25-Urine Dipstick
  • $25-Mono Spot

Medical Excuse Policy

The Wittenberg Student Health Center does not issue excuses.

Students are responsible for notifying professors of absence from class due to short-term illness or injury. The student health center will verify on request that a student has been seen and treated in the health center, but confidentiality is maintained and a reason for the visit and/or diagnosis will not be discussed without written permission from the student.

THE STUDENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTACTING EACH PROFESSOR TO DISCUSS MISSED CLASSWORK.

Student Insurance

Wittenberg recommends that all full-time students have medical insurance coverage.  Enrolled students are asked to provide a copy of their insurance card along with other required health forms requested.

The university does not offer any individual student health insurance with the following exceptions:

Emergency Information

What do I do in an Emergency when the Student Health Center is closed?
Any life threatening emergencies can be handled through 9-911 access. You may also call the campus operator by dialing 6363. The campus security officers will assist resident students in emergency situations when the Student Health Center is closed. Students living in the residence halls may also contact their Resident Assistant (RA) or Residence Coordinator (RC).
