Students who have completed the Ohio Transfer Module and an Associate degree will have met the requirements of the General Education program at Wittenberg (see below). The entire 60 semester hours or the quarter hour equivalent of the A.A. or A.S. degree will count toward Wittenberg's graduation requirements. Up to a total of 80 semester hours can be transferred.
Midterm grades: Students receive notice of any unsatisfactory grades (C- and below) at each mid-semester. Mid-semester grade reports are mailed to the student's campus mailbox.
A normal load is 16 hours per semester. A student must carry 12 semester hours to be full-time. Full-time tuition covers 12 through 19 semester hours. A student who wishes to carry more than 19 semester hours must request permission to overload by petitioning the Assistant Provost for Academic Services. The 20th credit triggers the first per-credit overload charge, with each additional credit generating the same per-credit fee.
The regular academic year at Wittenberg is divided into two semesters (fall, spring) of sixteen weeks each; the sixteenth week is for final examinations. Wittenberg conducts, through the School of Community Education, a summer session consisting of three terms of day and evening courses. Term I is six 1/2 weeks, Term II is five weeks, and Term III or the overlap term is six 1/2 weeks. Visit the School of Community Education's page for more information.
At Wittenberg, we are serious about our promise to provide you with an education possessing both breadth and depth. The major program you select will give you the chance to pursue an area in depth.
