Department of Art

Dan McInnis

Dan McInnis received his BFA in Film and Photography from Ithaca College in 1992. His senior thesis was a 16mm documentary film about the life of Space Shuttle Challenger astronaut Ron McNair entitled “Rendez-Vous”.

He received his MFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1995. His MFA thesis exhibition entitled “Caution-Warning-Danger” utilized the semiotics of industrial warning labels, photographic multi-media and modern iconography to confront the oppositions between fear, death, science, religion, and sexuality.

Jack Mann

Professor of Art.I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I received my B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art andPlanning (DAAP).I attended Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Carbondale, Illinois to work on my M.F.A. (Master of Fine Arts) in Sculpture and received my M.A.in Art Education from the University of Cincinnati.I also attended the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, California to study drawing. I have been teaching at Wittenberg since 1976.

Scott Dooley

Scott Dooley, born and raised in Kansas, graduated from Bethel College with majors in history, philosophy and German in 1993.  Upon discovering clay as a senior, he proceeded to work for a production potter for one year and then moved to Arizona where he attended Arizona State University and pursued art.  In 2000 he graduated with his Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Kansas State University where he studied with Yoshiro Ikeda.

Majors and Minors

Our department offers a variety of majors and minors tailored to the individual student's interests while providing breadth of knowledge in the discipline.

Requirements for Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Concentration in Art History

Forty-four semester hours of art are required for a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in art history. The following course requirements and an Art History Senior Thesis Presentation must be completed:
