Nicole Kinzeler

Dr. Kinzeler earned her B.A. in psychology from Wittenberg University in 2004 and earned her M.A. (2007) and PH.D (2011) from The Ohio State University.  In 2009, she earned the Excellence in Teaching Award from the psychology department at The Ohio State University.  Dr. Kinzeler joined the Wittenberg faculty in 2011.  She teaches courses such as the physiological proseminar, health psychology, and behavioral neuroscience, as well as a research course.  Dr.

Life After Wittenberg

Some students attend graduate school to pursue an area of psycholgy (counseling, clinical, industrial, sports or rehabitilitational counseling) or a field such as hospital administration, management, nursing, occupational therapy or social work.  The faculty give both advice and support on course planning and application for students throughout their planning process.  Often students will work for a year or two before continuing their studies.  Our recent graduates have chosen to pursue graduate school at

Student Research

Students in the psychology department have the opportunity to take part in several research projects predominantly during their junior and senior years. Research opportunities are available through independent studies, the research 400 classes, as well as in the form of a senior thesis. The department has several rooms and labs available for research purposes. Rooms 110-114 are available upon approval of a department member.

Study Abroad

Our students have attended study abroad programs in England, Australia, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Japan, Germany, Korea, Kenya, Greece and Austria.

While studying abroad students are able to explore psychology from a different perspective, while still being able to learn about and enjoy their new location. Recently students have gone to Australia, and studied sports psychology, counseling, psychology of education, and numerous other topics.

Internships

There are several internship arrangements within the Springfield community, the state of Ohio, and throughout the country. These internships are for advanced students interested in practical experience and research. The areas of focus encompass numerous topics, including neuroscience, education, and clinical psychology.
