Introducing the Writing Center's Frequent Writer Miles, a program designed to encourage and support students as they tackle their writing assignments. The idea is simple: the more you write and revise, the more miles you earn (just like with the airlines). Each visit to the Writing Center for a session earns 100 miles. The first time you come in for a session, you can pick up your Frequent Writer card and a pin. On occasion, Writing Center advisors will be out on campus, looking for students wearing their Writing Center pins. Those who have them on will receive a prize.
When you have five sessions in the Writing Center during a semester, you'll earn our upgrade to Gold Status. This upgrade comes with a bag of prizes: the bag itself, a drawstring backpack; a stress brain for those tense times you might have while studying; a Writing Center pen (full of good words and lots of punctuation marks); a Writing Center tattoo (it's temporary, yes); and a Writing Center notepad. You'll also be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate from Un Mundo.
When you have ten sessions in the Writing Center during a semester, you'll earn our upgrade to Platinum Status. This upgrade comes with your choice of a Writing Center shirt, mug, hat, or deck of playing cards; and you'll be entered in a drawing for $100 worth of gift certificates, from Panera, Chipotle, Tim Horton's, and Coffee Expressions.
The best prize, of course, is better writing. The more time we take with our essays, the more time we take talking with readers, the better our writing becomes. So, go the extra mile with your writing, and let the Writing Center travel with you.
