To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Fred R. Leventhal Family Endowed Lecture, President Laurie M. Joyner recognized Fred and Maxine Leventhal prior to the keynote address by journalist Gwen Ifill, Nov. 15.

“I am both honored and excited to recognize Fred and Maxine this evening with a special token of our thanks for their continuing support and for this lecture they endowed 30 years ago,” Joyner said, prior to reading a proclamation to the family.

“I have had the privilege of getting to know Fred and Maxine since joining the Wittenberg community, and I can honestly say that they represent the best of Springfield with their generosity of spirit and commitment to making Springfield the best it can be.”
