D. Non-Emergency Campus Security Procedures

Your safety and the security of your property is of prime importance to the university. For the benefit of all, the following procedures have been established:

I. Employees who are issued a building or office key are responsible for its safekeeping and should keep it in their possession at all times. Keys may not be transferred from one person to another and may not be duplicated.

II. Report lost keys to the director of the physical plant immediately.

III. Employees are not to admit unauthorized persons into buildings or offices at any time.

IV. When leaving a building or office, turn off the lights and close and lock all windows and doors.

V. Keep your personal belongings in a safe place. Do not leave purses or other valuables on desks or in visible, easily accessible places. The university is not responsible for the theft of personal property that employees choose to bring to work.

VI. Report any thefts, vandalism, or acts against person or property to the Police & Security Office. The campus security emergency number is ext. 6363, and other emergency numbers are listed in the front of the Campus Directory.

VII. Report any suspicious persons or circumstances to the Security Office.

VIII. Comply with all campus traffic and parking regulations.

IX. Present your university identification card when asked to do so by security personnel.

X. Report all accidents or on-the-job injuries, not matter how insignificant they seem, to your supervisor and the Human Resources department immediately.
