Dear Seniors, Parents, Families and Friends,

I can’t imagine the excitement and pride you must feel knowing that graduation is drawing near. I look forward to greeting you on that special day and to thanking you for joining the Wittenberg family. Although the journey that began a short four years ago, when the class of 2010 first set foot on campus, will draw to a close with our beautiful Commencement ceremony, a lifetime of being engaged and connected to this place is just beginning.

Our graduates are an amazing group, and we know they will find great success. They will enrich the world, just as they have enriched this campus community. We also know that on May 15 the wisdom of investing in a Wittenberg education will be realized. Not only will these graduates leave our hallowed halls knowing full well how to make a living, they will also know how to make a life—lived with great purpose and meaning. I cannot think of a better gift than that.

Now, as the members of the class of 2010 prepare for Commencement, I encourage each of you to share in this special time of joy and celebration. To help with your planning, we have created this commemorative booklet, which provides details on all the activities surrounding this special event. I urge you to read it carefully, especially the section on ticket information.

Commencement is a time of reflection and excitement at Wittenberg, and I look forward to sharing in this celebration with you this May. Each Wittenberg graduating class has its own unique qualities and characteristics, and each class leaves something distinctive and important that is woven into the fabric of this special place. I look forward to hosting you as very special guests of our graduates, and to sharing with you some of my observations from my time spent with members of the great class of 2010.
