I. Course Objectives:
The acquisition and development of racquetball skills.
To develop a knowledge and understanding of racquetball rules and etiquette.
To assist the student in the development of singles and doubles strategy related to his/her own personal abilities.
To develop an appreciation for and an enjoyment of the game of racquetball.
II. Required Reading:
Total Racquetball and Fitness. Ektelon, One Sportsystem Plaza, Borderntown, NJ 08505. 1995/1996 (On reserve in library). Read pp. 6-16, 34-40, 42-46; KNOW THE RULES pp. 43-45.
Hiser, Jim. Racquetball. Boston: WCB McGraw-Hill, 1999.
Several other racquetball books are in the library for your use. It is suggested that you check one out for this class.

Instructor's subjective evaluation of quality of play and improvement.
Examination on rules and strategy - this test must be passed at the 75th percentile level or higher in order to pass the course.
By HFS Department policy, more than three (3) hours of absence in this course will result in an NC for the course or W when dropped by the university designated deadline. Being late to class twice will equate to one (1) hour of absence.
Any absence related to illness, death(s), interview(s), field trip(s), etc. should be cleared with the instructor and will be tabulated against your maximum total of three hours of absence. Therefore, it is recommended you not "take cuts" as this could result in your failure of this class.
