Jody Rambo teaches courses in creative writing at Wittenberg, including Beginning Creative Writing and Advanced Poetry Writing. Her first collection of poems, Tethering World, won the 2009 Wick Poetry Open Chapbook Competition and will be published in spring 2011 by the Kent State University Press. Her poems have appeared in The Virginia Quarterly Review, Barrow Street, Quarterly West, Notre Dame Review, Verse, The Journal, Meridian, Blackbird, The Greensboro Review, Poet Lore, The Seattle Review, Cream City Review, and Sycamore Review, among others. She is the recipient of two Individual Excellence Awards from the Ohio Arts Council, as well as a Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant. Her poems have received finalist honors for the 2010 Gulf Coast Poetry Prize; Crab Orchard Review's 2006 Richard Peterson Poetry Prize; Sycamore Review's 2007 Wabash Prize for Poetry; and the 2007 Dogwood Poetry Award. She earned an M.F.A. in poetry from Colorado State University in 1997.
