Our focus on undergraduate teaching and our small class size ensure that all students receive hands-on experience with a wide array of instrumentation. The Department of Chemistry also features a well-funded summer research program, excellent training in communication skills and over 50 years of accreditation by the American Chemical Society.
Wittenberg prepares its chemistry graduates for the next steps after Commencement. Thirty-five percent of our students have gone on to work at organizations such as Eli Lilly, Procter & Gamble, BASF, and the Ohio EPA. Another 30 percent continue on to Ph.D. programs in chemistry such as Carnegie Mellon, Notre Dame, Rice and The Ohio State University. And thirty-five percent have been accepted to medical school and other allied health programs, including Penn State College of Medicine, Ohio University School of Osteopathic Medicine, and The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.
Chemistry majors pursuing a career in secondary education in math and science may be eligible for the Robert C. Noyce Scholarship. Learn more about the Noyce Scholarship on the Wittenberg Noyce Scholarship homepage.
