Sarah Jurewicz - Camp Director, Wittenberg University Women's Basketball Coach

Sarah Jurewicz '98, just completed her first season at Wittenberg. She led the Tigers to a 15-11 record, 12-4 in conference and runner-up in conference tourney. Jurewicz coached three all-conference performers in her first year at the helm. She has eight years collegiate coaching experience, 13 years basketball camp experience and has been a co-director of GHI basketball summer camps, which host camps in Colorado and Minnesota every summer.

General Camp Information:
  • Housing: Campers are housed, two to a room, in the residence halls on the Wittenberg campus. Staff members residing in the residence hall will supervise rooms. Campers must provide their own bed linens and towels.
  • Meals: Meals will be served by the university dining service or catered by area businesses. Meals are all-you-can-eat and drink basis.
  • Insurance: Each camper should have her own medical insurance. A medical insurance information form is sent to each camper's parent or guardian upon receipt of application.
  • Camp Staff: College and high school coaches will be assisting in each camp session. College players will also serve as instructors at the camps.
  • Facilities: All games and instruction sessions will be conducted in the air-conditioned Pam Evans Smith Arena and the gymnasium in Wittenberg's Health, Physical Education and Recreation Center. Twenty indoor baskets spread over five full courts are available for individualized instruction.
  • Camp Fee: The camp fee for a resident camper (overnight) includes lodging and all meals for the length of the camp. The commuter fee includes lunch and dinner on the days of the camp.


    Individual Skills Camp:

  • June 28-July 2
  • Resident Fee: $300
  • Commuter Fee: $215
  • For grades 4-10
  • Camp emphasis: Instruction on offense and defense fundamentals.
  • Proper techniques of dribbling, passing, shooting and rebounding are explained and practiced.
  • Individual instruction in small groups from an outstanding staff of high school and college coaches.
  • Discussion of mental aspects of the game and motivational speakers.
  • 3-on-3 league play.
  • Age-group league competition.
  • Daily Contests.

  • Varsity Team Camp:

  • Varsity shoot-out - July 25-26
  • Maximum of 10 players per team. Each additional player over 10 is $12 each.
  • Cost: $315/team
  • Guaranteed 6-7 games over 2 days.
  • Each court will have paid certified officials.
  • Five courts available for competition.
  • Compete against teams from throughout Ohio.
  • Limited to 20 teams.

  • ALL CAMPERS WILL RECEIVE A FREE CAMP T-SHIRT AND INDIVIDUAL SKILLS EVALUATION

    Directions to Wittenberg University

  • From Interstate 70: Take St. Rt. 68 North (exit 52) to St. Rt. 41 and turn right. Follow St. Rt. 41 to Plum St. and take a right. Then turn left on to Bill Edwards Drive. Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building will be on the left at the top of the hill.
