BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — If the analogy can be made to climbing a mountain, then the Wittenberg Tiger volleyball team has neared the summit of the NCAA Division III Tournament each of the last three years. CLEVELAND, Ohio — Wittenberg junior Jackie Williams (Rocky River, OH/Magnificat) has been named Player of the Year to highlight the 2007 All-North Coast Athletic Conference volleyball selections. Williams, a 6-1 outside hitter, ranked third in the conference during the regular season with a .408 hitting percentage (255 kills, 49 errors, 505 attempts), and was fifth in kills per game (3.36). She led the Tigers to their 13th North Coast championship, their 13th NCAC tournament title, and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 11th straight year. Read More ... |

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg Tigers passed another important test in what is turning into a record-shattering season Saturday with a pair of 3-0 wins over nationally ranked Hiram and Capital in the HPER Center. The wins improved Wittenberg to 21-0 overall, pushing the Tigers' season-opening win streak 11 matches past the program's previous best. The win over Hiram gave Wittenberg a 5-0 mark in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and pushed the Tigers' win streak against conference opponents to 26 straight over almost two years.
