OLIAS DEL REY, Spain - The Tiger Volleyball team came up short in the "Toledo Triangulo" (tri-match) in Olias Del Rey, a few minutes outside Toledo, Spain.

In the first match, the home team from Toledo rode a wave of momentum, thanks in part to their rowdy fans, and captured a 25-23, 25-21 victory over the Tigers. Immediately following the match, the Red and White fell by similar scores, 25-21, 26-24, to a team from Alcobendas. The matches were played best two out of three.

"Internationally, volleyball is played to 25," said Head Coach Paco Labrador. "We can't rely on late surges to win these matches. We have to play with more urgency."

Both Spanish squads were semi-pro teams with players from all over Europe. "It's great for us to play against teams that are older and experienced," Labrador said. "They make it look easy and make you work for every point. We hope to carry some of these lessons home with us."

The Tigers travel to Haro, Spain, on Sunday to play the local semi-pro team from the Rioja region.
