Tigers March On With NCAC Win At Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers marched on Wednesday night, easily toppling yet another foe. The victim on this night were the homestanding Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan, and the score was the customary 3-0.

If scoring at home, that makes 38 straight games won for the Tigers as they swept past Ohio Wesleyan for the second time in the 2007 season by scores of 30-19, 30-18, 30-23. Overall, Wittenberg's record stands at 24-0, including a mark of 8-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).

The leader both offensively and defensively for Wittenberg was two-time honorable mention All-American Emily Bell (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran), who contributed 15 kills and 16 digs to the winning effort. She got a boost on offense by fellow senior outside hitter Jan Kehres (Alliance, Ohio/Alliance), who finished with eight kills.

The defense was also lifted by the play of senior middle hitter Caitlin Augustus (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee), who topped the squad with four blocks.
