Scott Leo

Scott, director of broadcasting for the Columbus Clippers since 2006, is WUSO's adviser and serves as the university's director of broadcasting. The Clippers are currently the top minor league affiliate of Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals.

Scott is the primary football and men's basketball play-by-play voice for the Tiger Sports Network. He has called Wittenberg varsity athletic contests in football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, baseball and softball since arriving in Springfield as an assistant news/sports director of WBLY radio in 2000. At that time, he was also studying broadcasting at Sinclair Community College and then Wright State University.

Scott previously spent two seasons as the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the Richmond (Ind.) Roosters of the independent Frontier League. He is also the radio host for Wright State University men's basketball, play-by-play broadcaster on the Horizon League TV Network, and he also contributes to the CBS Radio/Westwood One coverage of the NFL and the NCAA basketball tournament.

Scott began his broadcasting career as a student at Kettering Fairmont High School, where he founded the sports department of the student radio station. His other broadcasting experience includes work with WONE in Dayton, play-by-play of Urbana University football and men's basketball, and selected Columbus Destroyers Arena Football League games in 2004. He has also done sports television work for Time Warner Cable.

Scott, who earned his bachelor's degree in communications and sociology from Wright State in 2004, and his wife Shannon live in Hilliard with their children, Austin and Madison.

Ryan is responsible for generating and effectively writing Wittenberg-related news and information. Ryan also directs and oversees the university’s sports information operation, including all athletics news, publicity and promotional efforts.

A 1994 graduate of Miami University, Ryan holds a bachelor's in English Literature, with a specialization in journalism, after also minoring in political science. In addition, Ryan earned a master's degree in education, with a specialization in sports management, from Cleveland State University in 1998. A native of Toledo, Ryan lives in Springfield with his wife, Heather, and their sons, Joshua and Justin.

John Strawn is an intern in the Sports Information office for the 2007-2008 academic year. In his position as Assistant Director of Broadcasting for the University, he handles many of the administrative and production duties for the broadcasting team, as well as occasionally hitting the airwaves as on-air talent.

A 2007 graduate of Wittenberg, John holds a B.S. in Biology. As a student he was co-founder of the Pep Band and a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He also served as play-by-play commentator for baseball, and color commentator for men's and women's basketball, football, and softball. John graduated in 2003 from Solon High School, near Cleveland, Ohio.


Rob Lehner

Rob Lehner

Rob Lehner, class of 2010, served as a sideline reporter for Wittenberg football in 2006 and 2007, and took over play-by-play for volleyball in 2007.

Rob also contributes to Wittenberg athletics as a member of the Tiger tennis team. Rob, who graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus, Ohio, is majoring in history with a minor in German.


Mark Kuhlman

Mark Kuhlman, class of 2010, splits time between the studio and the field for Wittenberg sports. Mark will serve as the play-by-play voice of both the softball and women's basketball teams in the 2007-2008 school year, in addition to his duties as Co-Sports Director for WUSO.

Mark graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School in Toledo, Ohio. He plans to major in management with a minor in Biology.

Ryan Charles, class of 2008, serves as a color commentator for Tiger Volleyball and Wittenberg Men's and Women's Basketball.

Ryan is the vice president of Wittenberg Men's Club Volleyball and a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in Mansfield, Ohio, and is a Political Science major and History minor.


Alex Throckmorton

Alex Throckmorton

Alex Throckmorton, class of 2010, serves as a color commentator for Tiger Volleyball.

Alex is the president of Wittenberg Men's Club Volleyball. He graduated from Chagrin Falls High School in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and is an English Major and Education Minor.
