Captain-elect for 1997 indoor and outdoor track season...1996 Season: earned all-NCAC honors by taking third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:42.88)..Cross Country: took 17th (27:42.8) at 1995 meet and was honorable mention all-NCAC...Geology major...coached by Jerry Mudd at Westfall High School where he was all-league four years and all-district one year in cross country...son of Tom and Karla Barnes.



Eric Johnson
Junior * Pole Vault
Indianapolis, Ind./Pike
1996: won NCAC indoor pole vault (13-7)...selected the team's most improved field events performer...1995: took sixth in 1995 (13-0) NCAC outdoor championships...History major...coached by Larry McWhorter at Pike High School where he earned a scholar-athlete citation...son of O. Franklin and Joyce Johnson.



Jason Love
Junior ¥ Jumps/Sprints
Columbus, O./St. Charles
Has won a total of six NCAC titles in two years...owns four individual school records: indoors-300 (36.30), 400 (51.21), long jump (22-0); outdoors-long jump (23-5 3/4); and two more relays records in the indoor 800 and 1600 relays...1996: named NCAC indoor most valuable field event performer when he won both the long (22-9) and triple (43-2 1/4) jumps...won NCAC outdoor long jump (23-3 3/4) and qualified for NCAA Division III outdoor championship...had fourth best jump after prelims (23-03 1/4) but illness forced him out of finals...team field MVP...1995: named team's co-most valuable field events performer with teammate Marvin Mackey...on winning NCAC indoor 800 relay...won NCAC outdoor 200 meters (22.48) and was on winning 400-meter relay...also a two-year letterwinner on Tiger football team where he helped win an NCAC title in 1995...Political Science major...coached by Steve Hackett at St. Charles Prep where he was captain and MVP of the track team and was a member of student council...son of Andrew and Rebecca Love.



Scott Rickel
Junior * Sprints
Port Clinton, O./Port Clinton
Did not run track in high school...played football, basketball and baseball...has emerged as a top-flight sprinter...holds indoor school record in 500 meters (1:06.77) and outdoor 400 meters (48.50) and 800 and 1600 meter relays...1996: took third at NCAC outdoor meet in 400 meters (48.73) qualified for NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships with 17th-best time going in...failed to make finals but now has experience at nationals...Education major...also a member of Tiger football team...son of Carl and Carla Rickel.
