GRANVILLE, Ohio — The women's 4x200 relay and shot put become two Wittenberg first place finishes at the NCAC Relays hosted by Denison University in Granville, Ohio, on Saturday. Senior Allison Walker (Columbus, Ohio/Academy) and a quartet of women's relay runners put together a sixth-place finish for the women, while the men came in at eighth place.

The winning relay team was made up of Tara Osborne (Oxford, Ohio/Talawanda), Kristy Parker (Hamilton, Ohio/Ross), Nicole Bailey (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit County Day) and Katie Shoemaker (Arcanum, Ohio/Franklin Monroe). The winning time came in at 1:51.37. Walker earned her five first-place points on an 11.73-meter toss of the shot put, a personal best mark. Bailey took second place in the long jump, while Kaitlyn Wesseler (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) took third in the pole vault as she bettered her school record with a mark of 9-06.25.

The men received a third-place finish from Erik Larkin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Country Day) in the triple jump and from the distance medley relay team of Andrew Carter (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro), Mike Echols (Springfield, Ohio/North), Josh Courlas (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee), and Gabe Savage (Lewisburg, Ohio/Tri-County North). The time of 10:38.97 broke the school record by almost two seconds.

The next men's and women's track and field event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 9, at DePauw.
