CEDARVILLE, Ohio — The Wittenberg Tiger men finished sixth and the women seventh in the highly competitive Cedarville University Collegiate Indoor Invitational this weekend.

Highlighting the men's performance was the first place finish of the 4x800-meter relay team. Mike Echols (Springfield, Ohio/North), Gabe Savage (Lewisburg, Ohio/Tri-County North), Andrew Carter (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro), and Josh Courlas (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) made up the winning team.

On the women's side, Allison Walker (Columbus, Ohio/Academy) bested the Tigers, finishing second in the women's weight throw and third in the shot put. Junior Katie Shoemaker (Arcanum, Ohio/Franklin Monroe) took fifth place in the 800-meter run to highlight the track events.

The teams next travel to Capital for the second indoor track meet of the season in Columbus on Friday Jan. 25, 2008.
