2001 Wittenberg Men's Soccer Invitational

Wittenberg def. Ohio Northern 1-0 Ezra Sword scored off a free kick opportunity late in the first half for the host Tigers, who won their first Wittenberg Invitational game since 1998. Steve Doring had the assist on the play after Taggart Suddes was fouled just inside the top of the Ohio Northern penalty box.

Otterbein def. Ohio Dominican 3-2 Following a scoreless first half, both teams came alive offensively in an entertaining second half. The winning goal was a header inside of 15 minutes by Mike Price off a cross from Bobby Weinberg. Ohio Dominican then scored an apparent tying goal with seven seconds left that was waved off because the ball just barely crossed the end line before the cross.

Otterbein def. Wittenberg 1-0 (OT) Otterbein gets the game-winning goal with 9:20 remaining in overtime. Angelo Manzo scored an unassisted goal, sneaking one past Tiger goaltender Danny Carmen, who had made six saves in the game.
