Wittenberg Ties Transylvania In
Wilmington Kiwanis Classic

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers needed a win, but after two overtime periods a tie was all they could come up with. So for the second time this season, Wittenberg finished a four-team tournament with a 0-1-1 record by virtue of a 1-1 tie with Transylvania in the finale of the Kiwanis Classic at Wilmington College.

Freshman Matt Borland scored the Tigers' lone goal and junior goalkeeper Adam Horrocks backed a strong defensive effort with three saves against one second-half tally allowed.

The Tigers held the shots advantage with a commanding 17-5 edge, and Wittenberg attempted 12 corner kicks in the game to five for Transylvania.
