Press Release: Thirty Wittenberg Student-Athletes Claim Spring Sport North Coast Athletic Conference Postseason Awards
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A solid spring sports season has reaped individual rewards for 30 Wittenberg University athletes who were selected to All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) teams over the last two weeks. Announcements for men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, softball and baseball have come in separate releases from the NCAC office. NCAC Player Of The Week: Cory Windle Earns NCAC Player of the Week Honors
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Wittenberg senior Cory Windle (Columbus, OH/Worthington Kilbourne) finished his career with an eight-goal outburst in a 16-3 defeat of Washington and Jefferson. It was the third-highest single game goal total in school history. Windle added two assists to total 10 points in the contest. Wittenberg Downs Oberlin For First NCAC Win
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg Tiger offense came alive Saturday, going for a season-high 16 goals in a 16-6 victory over Oberlin. The Tigers improved to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. It was their second victory over Oberlin this season, and 20th straight against the Yeomen since 1996. LAKE SYLVAN, Fla. — The Wittenberg Tigers took to the warm climes of Florida, rallying from a one-goal halftime deficit to record an 8-4 win. The Tigers, who opened the season at home in the cold with a 9-8 overtime loss to conference rival Kenyon, evened their record at 1-1 in the process.
