As Wittenberg started to make substitutions in the second quarter, the level of play stayed high and the offense continued to score six more goals. John Sprague scored two goals in the second and Reed, Egan and Habermeyer each added one more for the Tigers. Egan, Habermeyer and Stormshak each had an assist for Wittenberg. The Tigers went to the half with a 14-1 led over Marietta.
Wittenberg continued to see action from the younger players and the Tigers continued to play strong, scoring four more goals in the third quarter. The defense allowed two goals by Marietta to bring the score to 18-3 at the end of the third quarter. Sophomore Phil Deak scored two goals in the third while Justin Bitner and Keith Courant each added one apiece. Nate Reed and Trevor Block recorded assists for the Tigers.
The Tigers finished the game with two more goals, one by Alex Nicols and another by Phil Deak. Shannon Miller and Keith Courant each had an assist for the Tigers to wrap-up the game. The defense allowed Marietta three more goals in the final quarter, but the Tigers prevailed 20-6 to even their record to 2-2.
