Tiger Teams Run Well At Earlham Invitational

Andrew Carter
RICHMOND, Ind. - Wittenberg's men's and women's cross country teams received strong performances from several runners on Saturday, finishing seventh and ninth respectively in the Earlham Invitational.

Freshman Andrew Carter (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) gave his best performance of the season, finishing 21st in points places, and second of Wittenberg men. The only higher placing Tiger was senior Mike Echols (Springfield, Ohio/North), who battled his way to 13th place overall and 11th in points standings for his season best finish.

Senior Megan Poling (Medina, Ohio/Highland) placed 32nd in both overall and points rankings to lead the Tiger women, followed by consistently strong Alissa Goble (Sunfield, Mich./Lakewood), who finished at 47th overall.

Finishing close behind Goble was freshman Margaret Nevin (Darien, Conn./Darien), at 50th overall in a tough 114-competitor field.

The Tigers have two regular season races left before the NCAC Championships at Kenyon on Saturday, October 27th.
