Wittenberg University Hosts 25th Annual Community Sing Of Holiday Favorite Messiah
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Wittenberg University will host the 25th annual Community Sing of George Friedrich Handel’s Messiah at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, in Weaver Chapel.
Under the direction of Adjunct Instructor of Music Basil Fett, and accompanied by Professor of Music Trudy Faber, organ and harpsichord, the event will include instrumental section leaders and soloists Lesa DeBorde, violin, Cindy Krahn, violin, Patricia King, viola, and Anna Brossart, violoncello.
Soloists for the evening will include Amy Lord, soprano, Kay Kulma, class of 2009 from Lakewood, Ohio, soprano, Carla Drye, alto, Jason Hiester, tenor, Brien Sewell, class of 2009 from Greenville, Ohio, bass, and Will Mattox, School of Community Education, bass.
Everyone who enjoys singing is invited to be a part of the chorus. Established choirs are urged to attend together and enjoy this impromptu singing experience with hundreds of voices. Singers are asked to furnish their own complete score.
