New Work By Wittenberg Assistant Professor of Art Scott Dooley On Display in Columbus Gallery
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — New work by Wittenberg University Assistant Professor of Art Scott Dooley will be on display in Columbus, Ohio, from June 4-July 30 in the Sherrie Gallerie, 937 North High Street. The opening will be marked by an artist reception and lecture from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, June 4.
Dooley’s artwork has been exhibited throughout the United States, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, and internationally as well. The recipient of a 2005 Individual Artist Fellowship from the Ohio Arts Council, Dooley’s work is represented in many private and permanent collections worldwide.
Born and raised in Kansas, Dooley graduated from Bethel College with majors in history, philosophy and German. After first working with clay as a college senior, he worked for a production potter before attending Arizona State University to pursue a degree in art. He then earned a master of fine arts in ceramics from Kansas State University.
Dooley joined the Wittenberg faculty in 2000 and is currently director of the Ann Miller Gallery in Koch Hall on campus. His artwork has been published in Ceramics Monthly, Claytimes and Pottery Making Illustrated and was recently selected to be included in the ceramic textbook Clay and Glazes for the Potter.
