Established in 1983, the scholarship was initially funded by a grant from the Davenport-Hatch Foundation of Rochester, New York , to enable Rochester area students with strong academic credentials to attend Wittenberg University. Recipients are selected by a cooperative effort with the Rochester Alumni Scholarship Committee and Wittenberg’s Office of Admission. Awarded to incoming freshmen, the scholarship is for $10,000, or $2,500 per year for 4 years.

The selection committee will review academic transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, recommendation letters, extracurricular activities, and leadership experiences. You may either submit an additional essay, or choose to use your admission essay.
