Special Interest Award in Student Leadership
Criteria: The Office of Student Involvement offers up to five four-year scholarships to students who exhibit outstanding academic achievement, involvement in multiple co-curricular activities, maintained a cumulative 3.0 GPA, and contribute to their groups and organizations through leadership roles.
Amount: $2,500 per year for a total of $10,000 over four years.
Guidelines: Students must submit the Special Interest Award in Student Leadership application by January 15, write two essays about personal leadership experiences, include a letter of recommendation by someone familiar with the applicant's leadership abilities and, if selected, participate in a scholarship interview. Candidates should exhibit strong academic skills, an interest in creating positive change through leadership, and a sustained commitment to involvement and participation in student organizations.

Expectations: During their four years at Wittenberg, Special Interest Award in Student Leadership (Student Leader Fellows) recipients are required to be active participants in a host of leadership competency building experiences. Each year, Student Leader Fellows have various curricular requirements including: participating in Emerging Leaders, participation at monthly Student Leader Fellow meetings, become involved with and run for a leadership role in a campus organizations or group, learn about leadership competencies, facilitate leadership programs to peers, and identify and connect with mentors.
Student Leader Fellows are a diverse and vibrant group of leaders that reach most areas of campus. As a leader, this group serves as a resource for one another throughout your leadership journey and development.
