Fine Arts Scholarships
Wittenberg University offers renewable Fine Arts Scholarships up to $5,000 in the areas of art, dance, music and theatre. These scholarships are designed for students who hope to actively participate in one of these areas while at Wittenberg. While students may apply for more than one Fine Arts Scholarship, only one will be awarded. Participation in any or all of these areas is encouraged, regardless of which scholarship is awarded. Applicants must be accepted to Wittenberg and meet the guidelines of the award(s) for which they are applying. Please see details below.
Criteria: The Department of Art offers scholarships starting at $1,000 to new students who display exceptional artistic talent and promise. These scholarships are renewable annually to students who maintain at least an art minor and maintain good standing in the program.
Deadline: The application for admission must be submitted by Dec. 1. All portfolio submissions must be postmarked by March 1.
Portfolio Guidelines: To be considered for an art scholarship, students must be accepted to the university and submit a portfolio of up to 20 recent works in a PowerPoint presentation format. For every digital image, clearly mark your name, the media used, the overall size of the piece and the year it was created. Please note we would prefer that the majority of work submitted represents a concentration in a particular media. Include only a few examples that demonstrate the breadth of your work. No other formats will be accepted.
