Student Center

The Central Dining Room- The CDR is the main cafeteria for Wittenberg students. It is expansive and can be arranged in various ways for many types of events. After normal dining hours, it has been used for banquets, dances, fashion shows, game shows, award ceremonies, film screenings and music performances.

• Round tables and square tables of different
sizes with chairs around them
• Grand piano in southeast corner
• The adjoining CDR Annex seats 10 and can be used for meetings
• Portable risers and audio/visual equipment are available for special events
• House sound system with microphone inputs
• Network data port
Setup:
• Usual Seating Arrangement: 350 persons
• Maximum Capacity: 390 persons
• Dimensions (feet): 101x54
• Usual Setup: tables spaced throughout room with chairs set around them

 

Doppelganger’s (The Games Room)- Doppelganger’s is Wittenberg’s new game room and is replete with a set of arcade games, game tables, flat screen TV’s, and gaming consoles (find a more detailed list below). Everything it offers is free (including the arcade games, which have free play buttons on them). While it is usually open for the general student population, it may also be reserved by student organizations and campus departments for closed events.

• 4 TV’s have couches around them for
easy TV viewing or gaming

 

Faculty Dining Room- This room not only functions as a venue for luncheons, with access to the kitchen right across the hall, but it can also function as a meeting space. It features a portable A/V console with a computer and a projection system. Further A/V features can be found below.

• Room divider present if the entire space is not required

• Computer with internet access
• DVD/CD/VHS player
• Audio visual hookups
• Laptop hookups
• Data projector and screen
Setup:
• Usual Seating: about 25 persons
• Maximum Capacity: 72 persons
• Dimensions (feet): 65x17
• Usual Setup: Tables placed in a large U

The Geil Lounge- The Geil Lounge is located in the lower level of the Student Center, between Doppelganger’s (the games room) and the Student Center Pub. The Geil Lounge features tables, chairs, couches and a large flat screen television hanging above the fireplace. Computers are available for use against the back wall. This open lounge is often used for study groups and occasionally for dining space. Other uses have included informational fairs, receptions, performances and Euchre tournaments.

• Usual Seating: 18 persons
• Maximum Capacity: 70 persons

• Usual Setup: 3 round tables with 4
chairs each and 3 pairs of armchairs
set up around the perimeter

The Li Room -The Li Room is well-suited for meetings and conferences. It has a large conference table that can seat up to 20 people. There is a sink and a counter for refreshments during the meetings. The room also features an A/V station complete with access to internet and a projection system. Further A/V details can be found below.

• Smaller rectangle table (for extra seating, displays, refreshments, etc.)

• Digital phone line with conference calling capability

• Max Capacity: 49 persons
• Dimensions (feet): 39x18
• Usual Setup: Long conference table with projection screen at one end

Morris Lounge- This open lounge space is good for casual meetings or study groups. It normally seats about 16 people, and most of these seats are plush chairs and couches. It is centrally located in the student center and has a fireplace. It also has internet access (wall jacks and wi-fi).

• Maximum Capacity: 35 persons
• Dimensions (feet): 38x17
• Setup: Casual Meeting

 

Post 95- Post 95 is the campus coffee shop and dining area. Students often use it for working on homework, either alone or in groups. Portable risers are often brought in and set up along the north wall for performances. Student concerts, professional concerts, film screenings and many other special events have taken place here in the past. The coffee house atmosphere of Post 95 also lends itself well to a range of events.

chairs set around each and some plush
armchairs with coffee tables in front

 

Founders- This peformance venue and campus pub is currently under renovation and will look quite different than it has in the past. More detailed information on the space will be added when the renovation is complete in fall 2009.
