Athletes for Christ (AFC)

Athletes for Christ is a Christ-centered organization that desires to know the Lord and the fundamental role He plays in our lives. Our motto is loving Christ, loving others, loving sport. Through the sports that we play, we are able to see the Lord's power manifested in our abilities. It is in recognizing this power that we draw strength from within. Athletes for Christ seeks to help others recognize the amazing personal relationship you can have with Jesus Christ. Weekly meetings consist of outside speakers, praise and worship, student testimonies, small group Bible studies, campus outreach activities and lots of great fellowship!

Primetime facilitates members’ relationships with Christ and equips members to share God’s love with others. This is accomplished through weekly large group meetings every Thursday at 8 p.m., small group Bible studies held throughout the week and prayer times. Retreats, conferences and outreach programs occur periodically as well, in coordination with Campus Crusade for Christ or independently; social events are held regularly to provide students with fellowship and alternatives for weekend activities.

Membership: Open membership. All interested students are welcome.

Common Ground

Common Ground at Wittenberg University is an organization that works to unify Christian ministries by facilitating communication and cooperation between all ministries. Common Ground provides opportunities for fellowship, praise, worship, and services for all Christian ministry members and the greater Wittenberg community. The organization has an executive board that is responsible for planning events and creating community among all Christian ministries. The board consists of one representative from every affiliated Christian ministry (selected by each ministry) and four at-large members (selected by the Board from applications, and might not be members of any one ministry). If you're looking for leadership experience the Common Ground Board may be a great fit for you! If you are looking for new friends, fellowship, and fun, then we would love to see you at our events! Everyone is always welcome!

Jewish Culture Club (JCC)

The Jewish Culture Club, open to all, provides social, educational and recreational programming and works to promote closer relations among Wittenberg students, faculty, alumni and the larger community. Additionally, the Jewish Culture Club hopes to promote an understanding and appreciation of Jewish religion and culture on campus and in the community.

Membership: Open to all interested students, faculty, alumni and community members. Members should demonstrate an interest in and support of Jewish culture and religion. Anyone interested in becoming a member must only attend one meeting to obtain active membership status (no formal application).

Lutheran Student Movement

Lutheran Student Movement (LSM) serves to connect Lutheran students to one another here at Wittenberg and with students on other campuses. LSM-Witt is a part of the IMOK (Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky) region and a part of LSM-USA. LSM also has affiliates worldwide. Students gather once a week for campus meetings, once a semester for regional retreats and once a year for national gatherings to discuss issues of the Lutheran church. Students also plan and execute social awareness programs and fund-raisers to raise the levels of social awareness on campus. LSM-Witt is open to all students, regardless of religious affiliation. Newman Club

The Newman Club is a Catholic organization that provides fellowship and performs service as well as holding social events. The members also participate in the weekly Catholic Mass on campus at 9 p.m. on Sunday nights in Weaver Chapel.

Activities Include: “Rosary Circle” retreats, planning music for Mass, Trick-or-Treating, an Easter Egg Hunt with children from local parishes, volunteering at places such as a local soup kitchen, trips to Young’s Dairy, bowling, and other such fellowship activities.

Membership: Open membership and meets every week in the Weaver Chapel activity room.

Weaver Chapel Association (WCA)

Weaver Chapel Association works to provide an ecumenical Christian fellowship for students on campus. Weekly meetings allow students to organize service opportunities, fellowship events, bible studies, worship, and to develop
spiritual growth. WCA strives to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where students can find support and encouragement in a Christian setting.  Weaver Chapel Association web page

Activities Include: spring and fall retreats, various service activities, sponsoring Christian bands on campus, progressive dinner, bible studies and discussions, and fellowship activities such as horseback riding, ice skating and holiday parties.

Young Life Leaders

Young Life is a relational ministry that seeks to share the gospel with the high school students throughout Clark County by meeting them on their level. Wittenberg students are trained to be leaders in the area high schools through First Year Fellowship meetings and weekly Leadership meetings.
