FAQ
What is the Wittenberg Saturday Science Program?
With a never-ending need for skilled persons in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, Wittenberg's Saturday Science Program takes the traditionally challenging subjects and transforms them into friendly, engaging, and hands-on experiences. Our monthly Saturday morning program will typically start with an hour-long discussion in astronomy, biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, geography, geology, mathematics, physics, or psychology followed by a one hour hands-on experience to illustrate concepts from the discussion, though a variety of formats are possible.
Who is leading the programs?
Each Saturday will feature a different topic lead by a Wittenberg professor in that field of study. In addition, current students majoring in each topic assist in these experiences easing students' transition into integrated learning and application.
How much will this cost me?
Nothing. The Science Saturday Outreach Program is free for all to attend. Also, a free continental breakfast will be provided. The only draw back is that seating may be limited so signing up early is encouraged.
Why Science?
Major advances in science and technology calls for qualified individuals to further research and development. A recent study showed that individuals that took more math courses were paid a higher salary no matter their job field. Science professions provide some of the most secure, challenging, and rewarding jobs available in today's market.
