Major Requirements

To complete a Philosophy major a student must complete 36 semester hours in the following:

• No more than 8 semesters hours at the 100-level may be counted toward the 36 hours.
  
• 4 semester hours in Logic and Critical Reasoning (Phil. 110R)
• At least 8 semester hours at the 300- or 400-level, in addition to the Historical/Professional Philosophy sequence (Phil. 310, 311, 312, & 400)

• The three-term sequence in history of Western philosophy:
  • Phil. 310 (or 210R): Ancient and Medieval Philosophy
  • Phil. 311: Modern Philosophy
  • Phil. 312: Contemporary Philosophy
  
  
• Senior Seminar (Phil. 400)
