2013 Spring Symposium

Our annual Noyce Spring event will be held on Monday, April 22 from 4:30-6:00 PM in Room 101, Blair Hall on the Wittenberg Campus. Noyce scholars/interns and their mentors will take part in a roundtable discussion regarding their roles in the program, as well as best practices in the teaching of math & science.

Our featured speaker was Dr. Kathy Koenig, an Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati. She holds a joint appointment between Science Education and the Department of Physics. Her research interests include the implementation and evaluation of teaching pedagogies that support student success and retention in introductory college-level STEM courses (primary focus is physics), along with the development and evaluation of a curricula that targets K-16 student scientific reasoning abilities.

We were also joined by one of our Noyce Scholars and our six student interns speaking about their experiences either on campus, at the Noyce Conference, or at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington.
