SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Candice Lange, President of Lange Advisors, will be speaking at the Communication Department's second colloquium on Thursday, entitled, "Work, Overwork, and Leadership". Candice Lange is President of Lange Advisors, a professional services and consulting firm. Prior to forming Lange Advisors, Candi was Director of Workforce Partnering at Eli Lilly and Company, where she was responsible for work-life and flexibility strategies, the company’s diversity agenda and women’s initiatives, and the extension of the Lilly corporate brand into its people practices. Under her leadership in this role, Lilly achieved national recognition on a number of annual lists including the Fortune "100 Best Companies to Work For in America,"Fortune's "Best Companies for Minorities," and the Working Mother “10 Best Companies for Working Mothers."
While at Lilly, Candi also held management positions in medical and discovery research. She holds an MBA from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Purdue University.
Candi serves in a number of leadership roles in the work-life and diversity fields and is also active in her community. She is a member of the advisory boards of the Center for Families at Purdue University and Bright Horizons Family Solutions, and has served on the advisory boards of Indianapolis Woman magazine and the Berger Institute for Work, Family and Children. She was also a member of the National Advisory Board for the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) and in 2006, was President of its Indiana chapter. Candi is a former co-chair of the Conference Board Work-Life Leadership Council, and also served on the steering committee for the Boston College Work-Life Roundtable.
In 1998, Candi served as an advisor to a White House Working Group on Child Care, chaired by Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin. She was the co-founder of the Indiana Child Care Fund, a public/private partnership to improve the quality of child care statewide, and she co-chaired the leadership council of the Success-by-Six initiative in the greater Indianapolis area. Candi now leads the strategic planning committee for St. Mary’s Child Center, an early childhood intervention program for very young at-risk children.
Candi has received a number of honors and awards for her contributions. She has also contributed to a number of books and articles in the work-life and diversity fields.
Candi is married and the mother of two teenage sons.
