WittCAm Team Explores World of Funeral Servcies

October 12, 2009

Springfield, OH—This fall when other students are crawling through caves or memorizing lines for a play, two management students will assist the owner of several funeral homes to identify the needs of its customers. The team, Marc Sewell and Adam Rogier, will provide their client with an unbiased, fresh viewpoint of its services, service level, and assess the opportunities of the business as a whole. Additionally, they will craft ways to communicate the firm’s unique positioning to customers.

Adam Rogier ’10 is a senior management major and economics minor from Columbus, Ohio. Rogier is currently a student marketing consultant working in WittCAM. He enjoys giving back to the community in any way possible, including helping coach his high school lacrosse team. Rogier is involved in many university clubs and activities including Martial Arts club, and American International Association, and is currently the recruitment chair for Inter-fraternal Council. Rogier enjoys exploring different areas of study and cultures. In the future Rogier plans to attend graduate school to become a financial analyst and ultimately become a CFO.

Marc Sewell is a senior Management Major and a Religion and Music minor from Greenville, Ohio. Marc is a current employee of the Wittenberg solution center. In addition, Marc is the treasurer of the Wittenberg crew club and a member of the honor board for the Delta-Tau-Delta fraternity. Whenever Marc has some free time he is practicing with the crew team, playing piano or spending time with his friends. When Marc graduates he plans on pursuing a job in finance or marketing.

Wittenberg Center for Applied Management (WittCAM): The Wittenberg Center for Applied Management, better known as WittCAM, offers alternative coursework to upper-level students who are focused in management. As an alternative to a classroom-based course, WittCAM provides students with the opportunity to serve as consultants to businesses, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations. Students and organizations have a choice of opportunities, including: Small Business Institute, Project Management Assistance, Management Internship, and the Creative Advertising Partnership. Students may work in groups or as individuals on projects. Some projects require specific management course prerequisites; these vary depending on the nature of the project. Directed by Professor Pamela Schindler, more than 450 students have been involved in WittCAM projects in the last 30 years.
