Video Series WittCAM Fall 2012

Students Work to Design Teaching Video Series

September 10, 2012
Springfield, OH

Our client has provided us with a stock of videos that we will attempt to find a consumer market for.  The videos have potential educational and job training attributes.  We have the ability to manipulate the videos to make them more accessible to markets other than business related markets.  Our main objective is to produce a few short prototypes that will be used to do market research and to determine if there even is a market for these educational videos.

Meet your WittCam Consultants:

Mitch Griffith ’13 is a senior Business major and History minor originally from Perrysburg, Ohio.  He has had four years’ experience working sales and planning in a retail store selling swimming pools and pool chemicals.  At Wittenberg, Griffith is a member of Tau Pi Phi (Business and Economics honorary) as well as WittInvest. He serves as a member of the Build a Better Wittenberg Committee whose goal is to use University funds to enhance the relationship between Wittenberg and Springfield.  His future goal includes a career related to management or finance.

Timothy J Little ’13 is a senior Business Major with a concentration in entrepreneurship at Wittenberg University from Chicago, Illinois.  Little is currently interning with New York Life in the sales department, where his role is to assist sales agents in putting together policy packages that fit individual customer needs.  At Wittenberg, Little has participated in the varsity baseball program for four years, where he played third base and catchers, earning a varsity letter two of those four years.  He is currently a member of the Wittenberg University Men’s Rugby Club.  His future aspirations are to work in the public relations department of a professional baseball organization and to help make the game of baseball more readily accessible for inner city children.

Steven Uhle ’13 is a senior business major at Wittenberg University from Rocky River, Ohio.  This past summer he interned at Sweet Manufacturing Company working with the head of purchasing on two major projects in South America.  Uhle is active in WittEntrepreneurs, an organization designed to help students start their own businesses.  He also spent the summer of 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya assisting the founder of Village Markets of Africa in assessing the inventory management and new product designs for the company. As a senior, he works with the class president and vice president to help organize events designed to involve students in planning events associated with being a senior at Wittenberg University.  After graduation, Uhle plans to serve in the United States Air Force as part of their logistical team.

Wittenberg Center for Applied Management (WittCAM): The Wittenberg Center for Applied Management, better known as WittCAM, offers alternative coursework to upper-level students who are focused in management. As an alternative to a classroom-based course, WittCAM provides students with the opportunity to serve as consultants to businesses, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations. Students and organizations have a choice of opportunities, including: Small Business Institute, Project Management Assistance, Management Internship, and the Creative Advertising Partnership. Students may work in groups or as individuals on projects. Some projects require specific management course prerequisites; these vary depending on the nature of the project. More than 500 students have been involved in WittCAM projects in the last 35 years. Director, Professor Wendy Gradwohl, PhD; project coaches: Professors Pamela Schindler, Tim Bode, and Tom Kaplan
