Every senior at Wittenberg must complete a department-designed senior assessment. The Business Department has chosen for its students to develop a Senior Business Portfolio. 

This process starts when the student declares either a business or accounting major and learns about the department’s learning goals.  Each student develops, with the help of their academic adviser, his or her own personal development plan for achieving the learning goals. The culmination of the process, usually in January for May graduates or November for December graduates, includes two parts:

• Students submit an electronic portfolio, demonstrating the degree to which they have achieved the department’s learning goals.  They do this by writing eight profiles, one for each learning goal and featuring various management-related activities in which they have been involved. The profiles link to evidence in their portfolio. This electronic portfolio is assessed by faculty and outside assessors, usually managers from a variety of different fields.
• Students present to their assessor panel on some management-related topic. Often students present about one or more elements of their portfolio.

Students must successfully complete their Senior Business Portfolio in order to graduate with a business major of any concentration or an accounting major.
